Radio Veritas continues to distribute images of Our Lady of Fatima as part of the celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Apparitions of the Blessed Mary.
Rev. Fr. Dexter Toledo led the blessing of the images during the Holy Mass at the Our Lady of Veritas chapel while Radio Veritas Vice President for Operations Rev. Fr. Roy Bellen with Bro. Clifford Sorita, consultant for Marketing lead the distribution of the images of the Blessed Mary.
The recipients of the images are the parishes under the title of Our Lady of Fatima in Galas, Quezon City; Bangkal, Makati City, Mandaluyong City, and Cainta, Rizal.
As one of the recipients of the images, Rev. Fr. Giovanni Yago, parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima in Cainta, Rizal under the Diocese of Antipolo, expressed his gratitude for the support of the station to the one hundredth year celebration of the apparition.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Radio Veritas for its continuous effort to distribute the images of Our Lady of Fatima as part of the apparition’s centennial anniversary. Through this endeavor, the station helps in the propagation of the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary,” Fr. Yago said.
The distribution of the images was made through the help of Rural Bank of Pilar, Inc., Fatima University Medical Center, University of Luzon in Dagupan City, San Sebastian College Recoletos, Felicidad T.Sy., Foundation, Inc., BPI Foundation Inc., and Pasay City Representative Hon. Emelda Emily Calixto Rubiano.
Last May 13, 2017, as part of Radio Veritas’ participation in the 100th year of the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, D.D. led the blessing and distribution of 200 hundred images of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sgt. Mariano, Pasay City.
For his part, Fr. Yago also invites the public to join activities of his parish for the centennial celebration of Our Lady of Fatima.
“To all devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout the country, I invite you to take part in the activities such as those led by our parish as well as the efforts of the Catholic Church and its institutions in celebrating the centennial anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. You can join in the upcoming renewal of vows of 100 couples this September 8, 2017 as well as participate in the local pilgrimages in the parish,” Fr. Yago added.
Our Lady of Fatima is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary based on her six apparitions to three shepherd children; Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta near the town of Fatima. The Blessed Mother repeatedly emphasized the need to pray the Rosary every day, to wear the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel and to perform acts of reparation and sacrifice in all her appearances every 13th of the month from May to October 2017.
In the Philippines, the image of Our Lady of Fatima is considered as the Queen of Peace. Our Lady of Fatima was also declared as the Patroness of Valenzuela City where the national shrine under her title is located in celebration of the golden anniversary of the parish in 2011.
Radio Veritas 846, the number one faith-based Radio in the Philippines, is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila. Established in 1969, the Ramon Magsaysay recipient Catholic radio station continues to be the leading social communications ministry for truth.
